Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026.

This policy explains what EpoxyTimes ("EpoxyTimes", "we", "us") collects when you use epoxytimes.com, how we use it, and, most importantly, when and with whom we share it. The part that matters most is in the "How we share your information" section, so read that even if you skip the rest. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

What we collect

Information you give us. When you use the quote tool or the quote check, you may provide your name, email address, phone number (optional), project ZIP code, and details about your floor such as the space, size, slab condition, and finish. If you submit a quote to be checked, you provide the text or details of that quote.

Information collected automatically. Basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. We hash IP addresses before storing them so they are not kept in plain form. If we use analytics or cookies, they are limited to understanding site usage, and you can control cookies through your browser.

How we use your information

How we share your information

With flooring installers. If you provide your phone number and request competing bids, we share your project details and contact information, including your name, phone number, and email, with up to three flooring installers matched to your job. Those installers may contact you by phone call or text message, including through automated means, to discuss your project. Providing your phone number is optional. If you only want a report and not to be contacted by installers, do not enter a phone number. Your consent to be contacted is not a condition of any purchase.

With our affiliated lead generation businesses. The people behind EpoxyTimes also operate lead generation businesses in New York and Boston that connect homeowners with flooring contractors. Depending on your location and request, your lead may be handled by or shared with those businesses. They never appear in our installer rankings, and this is disclosed on our about and methodology pages.

With service providers. We use third parties to run the site: hosting and infrastructure (Vercel), our database (Neon), and, for the quote check feature, an AI provider (Anthropic) that processes the quote text you submit so we can analyze it. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

We do not sell your information for advertising. We do share it with installers as described above, which under some state laws may be considered a "sale" or "sharing"; see "Your choices and rights" for how to opt out.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Your choices and rights

You can decline to provide a phone number and still receive a report. Depending on where you live, including California, Virginia, Colorado, and other states, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. To make a request, email [email protected] and we will respond as required by law. To stop installer calls or texts, tell the installer directly and contact us to remove your number.

Data retention and security

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service and as required by law, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it, including hashing stored IP addresses, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. Material changes will be reflected here.
